Why I Started Brooks’s Bookings
I’m Georgie Brooks, founder of Brooks’s Bookings. Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember — from singing along to Musicals as a toddler to eventually studying music at university. I always dreamed of building a career in the music industry.
From Artist to Founder
As an artist myself, I experienced first-hand how difficult it can be to find regular paid performance opportunities. So often, the opportunities available were unpaid open mic nights, with paid gigs only coming occasionally.
Eventually, like many emerging artists, I had to find work outside of music. But I never lost my passion for the industry — or forgot how difficult it was to find those opportunities.
That experience inspired Brooks’s Bookings. I want to help talented local artists access genuine paid opportunities, while giving venues and event organisers a simple, reliable way to discover quality local performers.
